Assistant Headteacher (L4-L8)

With responsibility for SEND and the work of the pastoral team

Full time, permanent

Required for 1st September 2019

Litherland Moss Primary School is a one-form entry community school. All our work is underpinned by a very well embedded set of school values. We aim to provide our children with a rich curriculum and, as such, develop each as a well-rounded individual with a love of learning and a strong sense of being part of a school and wider community.
Please see our website for further information or find us on Twitter @litherlandmoss.
We are looking for someone to become a member of our committed and ambitious team – a hard working, proactive professional who will join us in our work to improve outcomes for children. We are looking for a resilient leader who will support, challenge and work with us all as we take our school into its next stages of growth and development. Whilst experience in the areas of SEND and pastoral work is an advantage, it is not essential – it is the right values that we look for; someone hard-working, willing to learn, to take risks and to expand skills, knowledge and understanding of education and leadership.
This will initially be a non-class based post – there will be some teaching and other areas of responsibility that will be determined on appointment. The appointed person will be very well supported by the staff team and by The Heath Family (NW) Multi Academy Trust.
This is a short notice post and, as such, if you are interested in finding out more then please call school to arrange a visit or talk to a member of the leadership team. We are looking to appoint someone for 1st September 2019 (or as soon as possible after that date) and plan to interview for this post on Thursday 30th May 2019. If you are shortlisted and cannot attend on this date we can be flexible.
Closing date: noon on Friday 24th May 2019
Applications by post or email
For all enquiries telephone: 0151 928 4544 or email:

The Heath Family (NW) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We follow safer recruitment practice and all appointments are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance,

A studentā€™s perspective...

The best thing about being a student at The Heath is that all the teachers care and push you to do your best so you do well in life and later in school. Also if you have an issue it is always sorted out by either your form tutor or caring teachers.
